Knowde is a US-based chemical industry giant known for bridging the gap between suppliers and buyers with its advanced Software. The world’s leading chemical producers and distributors trust Knowde’s software and AI technology to simplify the discovery and procurement of chemical products. However, to maintain its innovative edge, Knowde sought to enhance its technical capabilities and streamline its operations by integrating its product with SAP.
This led to a collaboration with AvoTechs to design and build a custom SAP integration connector and certify the developed integration package.
Challenge
Knowde partnered with AvoTechs to enhance its software’s technical capabilities, streamline internal processes, and elevate its platform’s overall user experience. But they were stepping into SAP territory without an SAP-native team. That’s where things usually break, bringing complexity, steep learning curves, and integration risks.
Solution
AvoTechs supported Knowde in transforming an initial idea into a live customer implementation. We began by defining the SAP integration strategy to integrate Knowde’s Product Information Management (PIM) system with SAP S/4HANA. Over time, this evolved into a strong collaborative partnership, and the team decided to develop a reusable SAP connector.
We designed and built a custom SAP connector using the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) Integration Suite. It was developed in alignment with SAP best practices to ensure upgrade safety and an optimised total cost of ownership (TCO).
To complete this phase of the project, the connector underwent rigorous validation by SAP, and Knowde successfully achieved official SAP certification. This was a milestone delivered by AvoTechs.
