The FMCG company we worked with is a global leader in consumer goods that operates one of the world’s most complex SAP environments, supporting thousands of users and business processes across manufacturing, supply chain, finance, etc. As part of its digital transformation effort, the FMCG brand initiated a multi-year journey to modernise its enterprise technology landscape through SAP S/4HANA and the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).
The goal was to establish a unified, future-ready SAP development framework that could enable rapid innovation, deliver consistent user experiences through Fiori, and embed automation and DevOps practices across global teams.
Challenge
Despite its mature SAP landscape, the company faced growing complexity in standardising and scaling modern SAP development across its global organisation. Regional teams operated with varying practices, tools, and skill levels, leading to inconsistent quality, slower delivery, and higher maintenance overhead.
The transition to S/4HANA, Fiori, and BTP introduced new technical and governance challenges, including fragmented CI/CD pipelines and ad-hoc deployment models, as well as gaps in developer expertise and inconsistent compliance with enterprise standards. Without unified guidelines, automation, and upskilling, the company risked inefficiencies that limited its ability to deliver innovation at the speed the business demanded.
Solution
Our senior transformation consultant contributed as a trusted member (augmented staff) of the core team for 2.5 years, supporting major SAP innovation and transformation efforts.
